In this virtual workshop, Dr. Mark LaSota presents an introduction to esports and the history of digital gaming. Topics also include how esports has entered higher education, the video game crash of 1983, the rise of digital games, and an overview of how streaming platforms are used with online gaming. In this overview, Dr. LaSota also includes an introduction to esports leadership, giving examples of leaders in today’s esports industry.
